In 2015, Milan is hosting Expo2015: the Universal Exposition dedicated to the theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life,” sought to include everything from food education to food shortages that plague many areas of the world. Milan for 6 months ends up in the global spotlight and welcomes more than 22 million visitors from all over the globe. Frigerio Viaggi seizes this huge opportunity and becomes an official Expo2015 subreseller, selling about 800,000 tickets and organizing over 100 events within the event.
In 2016, following the great success of Expo2015, Frigerio Viaggi launches its new Incoming division: the brochure “Unconventional Incoming” collects a series of proposals, experiences and workshops throughout the country, which refer to a dedicated website. In the same year, Frigerio Viaggi takes over the management of Aquatica, Milan's only water park: the skilful management of the park has produced incredible results: more than 180,000 presences in just 3 months of summer opening (latest data updated to 2019).Also in 2016, Frigerio Viaggi is among the founding members of Fondo Vacanze Felici, to comply with the regulatory provisions that on June 30, 2016 provided for the dissolution of the National Guarantee Fund. Objectives of the Fund give an opportunity for compliance with European regulations for the various tour operators and agencies on the national territory and at the same time guarantee, to the thousands of Clients served each year, a safe and secure vacation from any nasty surprises that the service provider may have in store.
In 2017, the Inventive Division was created to support the MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, Events) division that had already been active in the company's perimeter for years. The newly formed division focuses on creativity and communication.
In 2018, OpenCITY App is launched on the market: an application daughter of a survey carried out during Expo2015, which represents the first real example of digital tourism. Its format, totally innovative and unique in the world, was created to accompany the traveler in a live exploration of the places narrated, using the most modern technologies of geolocation, geofencing and Augmented Reality. The celebrations culminate during Milan's Design Week Fuorisalone with an evening in the beautiful setting of Castello Sforzesco.
In 2020 Frigerio Viaggi accuses the shock of the global pandemic caused by Covid19, like all Italian and global tour operators. Despite this, the company is not standing still. In June, in collaboration with NEXI, it is organizing its first digital event “Emotional & Virtual”: a journey between creativity and technology, discovering new business models. At a time when distance means respect and care and that physical contact is penalized, the need for reciprocity and the need for confrontation emerges even more: new digital and hybrid event formats make it possible to overcome the limits of physicality through technology, while emphasizing the human element. The highlight of “Emotional & Virtual” will be the talk by Francesco Morace, Sociologist Essayist and President Future Concept Lab, who has been working for more than 30 years in the field of social and market research.In September 2020, the Group obtains an important recognition at IMA Italian Mission Awards, the night of the Oscars of Business Travel: an event that pits the most important operators in the sector against each other and at which Frigerio Viaggi obtains the award for “Best Expense Report Management System” for its CTMP - Corporate Travel Management Portal.
The company introduces the highest security standards to comply with anti-covid regulations and provide all necessary guarantees to both its staff and clients. It also collaborates actively, within the boards of several trade associations (FTO, ANAV, Assofranchising, Assolombarda), working in defense of the industry to obtain from the government the right recognitions for the pandemic emergency.
The project evolutions of CTMP encapsulated in the new Fri Travel App and Fri Travel Fast projects dedicated to both corporate and trade, attracts the interest of Horsa devlab, a company that is part of the Horsa Group, a well-known industrial group in the IT sector. Thus, in December 2020, Fritechnology was born, representing the technological assets owned by the Frigerio Group. The new company was created with the aim of creating an innovative digital and web ecosystem adapted to the needs of corporate, trade and end customers.In 2021, Frigerio Viaggi is set to announce major changes to its website and is set to launch a new project called Fridom for travel agency affiliations.
In 2023, the Group becomes a majority partner in TEX The Travel Expert, a network with 70 Personal Travel Experts throughout Italy. In the same year.
In 2023 TRIDENT enters the corporate structure of Fritechnology, to the extent of 13 percent. Trident is a leading Swiss company in the field of Information Technology and system integration, which decides to marry the project by recognizing itself in FRITRAVELSOLUTION's own values of digital innovation.
At the end of 2023, Frigerio Viaggi launches a new, completely revamped website: in addition to traditional vacation and cruise packages, users can select individual services such as flights, trains, hotels, car rentals, transfers, and activities from in extensive list of more than 5,000 transportation companies and 990,000 hotels worldwide.
In 2024, the Group celebrates 3 major anniversaries: 75 years of Frigerio Trasporti, 50 years of Frigerio Viaggi, and 25 years of Frigerio Viaggi Network.
